This policy explains what personal data Abbey Court Hostel collects through www.abbey-court.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and what your rights are.
Who we are
The website is run by The Abbey Court Hostel Ltd, 29 Bachelors Walk, Dublin 1, D01 AX90, Ireland. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
For any question about your data, or to use any of your rights, email info@abbey-court.com or call +353 1 878 0700.
What we collect and why
Group booking enquiries
When you send the group enquiry form on our Group Bookings page, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), nationality (optional), your travel dates, the size and type of your group, any requirements you tell us about, and whether anyone in the group is under 18.
We use this to answer your enquiry and prepare a quote. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a booking (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). We ask whether anyone is under 18 so we can plan the stay. We do not ask for any details about the minors themselves.
If you tick "We can contact you with offers", we will also email you about offers for groups. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by replying to any of those emails or by writing to info@abbey-court.com.
Lost property
When you use the form on our Lost & Found page, we collect your name, contact details, a description of the item, where and when you think you lost it and your check-out date. We use this only to look for your item and to contact you if we find it. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in returning lost property to guests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Job applications
When you use the form on our Careers page, we collect your name, email address, phone number and the role you are interested in. We use this to consider you for a job and to contact you about it. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible employment contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Emails and phone calls
If you contact us directly, we use what you send us to reply. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Online bookings
Bookings made with the "Book now" buttons are taken by our booking system, Cloudbeds. You enter your booking and payment details on the Cloudbeds booking page, and we receive them to manage your stay. The legal basis is the contract for your stay (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legal obligations, for example for accounting (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR). Card payments are processed by the payment provider used by Cloudbeds; we do not store your full card number on our website.
If you book through another website, such as Booking.com or Hostelworld, that website's own privacy policy also applies.
Do you have to give us your data?
No. But the fields marked as required on our forms are the minimum we need to answer you, and we need your booking details to take a booking. Without them we cannot deal with your request.
We do not make decisions about you by automated means only, and we do not use your data for profiling.
Website statistics
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website and our booking page, for example which pages are visited and whether a visit that started from one of our Google ads ended in a booking. Google receives your IP address and information about your device and the pages you visit. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). If you do not accept, Google Analytics does not set cookies on your device.
Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the companies that run parts of our website and booking system for us, and only as far as they need it to provide their service:

| Adobe (Typekit) | Web fonts |

| Vimeo | Videos shown on the website |
| Our email provider | Delivers and stores the emails we send and receive |
We may also share data when the law requires it, for example with An Garda Síochána or the Revenue Commissioners.
Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area, mainly in the United States. When your data is transferred there, it is protected by safeguards approved under EU law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
